Recently was given this machine to see if I could fix it, here goes2006 Classic 300D, Kubota V2203, spec no 11244. Just under 8k hours. Has (had?) a wire feed module (WFM), board removed which has a nasty burnt black spot on it, judging by the damage this board is not repairable and will have to be replaced, I think I found a used one for a thousand bucks.Machine was delivered to me without a battery so I put one in it. Start it up (no glow plugs, 80*F and it lit off immediately and idled nicely) and it shuts off after running a few seconds, flashing code 12 - low oil pressure. Oil pressure gauge reads 80 PSI as soon as its started up - found out someone had switched the leads going to the VDO sender for "G" (gauge) and "WG" (warning switch). Switched them back around so the G terminal goes to the gauge, starts up gauge now reads 60 PSI and no more code 12.Start it back up, shuts down after a few seconds longer running this time flashing code 13 - "L" terminal on alternator grounded for 1+ second. If I pull the 2 pin connector on the alternator before startup it flashes code 26. If I backprobe the L terminal it reads .58V the whole time engine is running, not completely grounded for a second or more but not far from it either. B/IG terminal is being supplied battery voltage when ignition switch is turned on. Output terminal on alternator is reading 12.41-12.44V and climbing slowly until the motor shuts down, which seems a bit low so I ordered a replacement Denso alternator that should be here next week.Story I got was that machine kept shutting down and when the helper tried to restart it thats when the WFM board must have fried as the helper saw smoke coming out of the WFM and told the guy who gave it to me. No word if the shutdown was caused by the code 12 or code 13 but TBH I don't think either one would have noticed in spite of it being a flashing red light on the panel.Anybody with experience with the WFM modules on these? Curious if the multiple attempted restarts seems like a likely cause for failure of this board or if these problems are unrelated.Is there a service manual / test point specs for either the welder/generator head and/or WFM connections? Last thing I want to do is get the auto shutdown issues sorted, plug in a new WFM board and fry it right away. Parts & operator manuals on Lincoln's website doesn't give me anything like that. Also can't seem to find any welder wiring or plug P10 in the parts diagrams on Lincoln's website if I wanted to just revert to stick-only operation. See pics of where damage happened on WFM board
Reply:I repaired a Vantage a while back and had a tuff time finding any tech manuals. I was able to find a schematic online(not the exact one but close enough) and was able to test and repair. Similar scenario 600+ $ board and was afraid of frying it. I wish Lincoln would make the tech manuals available or for sale. Good luck.TimMillerMM 252, 350P

Reply:Replaced the alternator today with a Denso from eBay I paid $76 shipped for and it stays running and auto/idle/high switch works, which is more than I had before. Going to dive into the service manual tonight and see what else we can find.
Reply:Hello,Just put the 5th wire feed module control PC board in my Classic 3 Diesel with Continental engine Code 10156-CV at 9,600 Hrs PN 9SG2563-3. Usually contactor CR3 fries alerting me of a problem. Never sure if the board hashed the contactor or vice versa. This time I was out of town and hard wired the capacitor bank around the contactor which is fine if you do not switch to CC mode. Finished the job, ordered a new contactor, installed and during test run it was painfully obvious that the contactor was held in after I switched to CC mode and hashed 2 capacitors. After I ordered a new capacitor bank I wondered if the circuit board may have had a problem in the first place and burned up CR3. Anyway new board, capacitor bank and CR3 and all is well again.None of my failed circuit boards show any damage as bad as yours! that thing is toast! Definitely take a look at your capacitors and CR3 before you power up. Good luck!
Reply:Anybody know how to find parts in otherwise lacking Lincoln diagrams?I'm looking for the 12 pin jumper/diode plug P10 that connects to J5 shown on the top of this part of the diagram to see if this 300D, now that it stays running, will weld as a CC machine before I sink the money into a $1000 WFM board to make it run as it was previously configured.
The Lincoln website parts navigator shows a "harness assembly" 9SG4645 as well as "plug and lead assembly" with part numbers 9SS18250-848 and 9SS14165-464 under the heading of "Case Front Assembly" with no pictures or further details.Naturally none of them are actually shown in the diagram, and do not have pictures to identify them, and searching the web for those part numbers doesn't actually turn up a single image from any resellers that would help confirm if any of them are or include the 12 pin plug I'm looking for.As far as I can tell this plug goes on the connector at the end of the large bundle of wires that runs from the control panel back towards the engine on top center of the generator body. When the WFM is installed they put an extension cord on it to reach to the circuit board inside the WFM.Probably easy enough to make some jumper wires part of the plug but I don't know what size diode they used and don't want to mess anything up.Last edited by greenbuggy; 06-25-2021 at 09:50 PM.

Reply:Installed that jumper/diode plug 9SS14165-462 into the machine today after pulling of the extension cable going to the WFM, in CC mode machine idles up like its supposed to when an arc is struck and works like it should.
