We all have seen and maybe posted welds that are less desireable. What I would like to see are welds that some of the welders around here are most proud of and would like to " show off " whether it be good looking welds or heavy duty welding or whatever you would like to show us new guys. good welder but getting better

Reply:I don't have a ton of pics, as 35mm does not translate well to digital! These two passes were at least a decent showing though.Root pass in a flare bevel groove.Cover pass with a bit of a weave.City of L.A. Reply:Wow, you guys are awesome welders.Working on cars and bikes is my hobby, learning to weld the pieces together is my quest.
Reply:Not the one I am *most* proud of, necessarily, but one I have pics of-- things in which I take more pride, no pics avail(thread originally posted in: http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=6842&page=2 )
Reply:A few pics of the truck bed i biult earlier this year, and a few process pipe welds. I've done some pipe welds in some pretty tough places, I wish I would've taken pics.  Just got through retubing 2 crude oil heaters in our plant; one heater had 4" tubes and the other has 2.5" tubes.
Reply:Thank you for all the compliments!  One thing I like about this site, is that there are a lot of good welders posting here.ASODQUOTE:wello posted:ASOD that tig work is very niceQUOTE:WelderBoy posted:...Absolutely beautifulBeauty in the Bead!

Reply:I did a lap weld, he did an open root.  I'm impressed. Been gonna order a pencil tig torch. I have about a dozen new 150 amp one piece 25' hoses.   All I need is the torch.  DavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:This is not such a special weld, I have done plenty that were better. But... this one was done down in the harbor, and the wind was blowing 20knots. I was tickled to pull it off!!! And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
