OK guys I had a blast at Zaps. Met some nice people, put some faces to names, and learned some things too. I'm gonna try it here in my shop. The time I have to spare is the weekend after thanksgiving. I know its bad timing for some, but this year its good for me. I am going no where and would love to spend more time at work. So this is what I want to do. Anybody that wants to sharpen skills, or learn new ones leave a note here. Any day or two after thanksgiving is good for me since I quit hunting. Black Friday would be fine with me, I never go to stores when they are over run with "
ower shoppers". Saturday would be OK if it fits into schedules better. I have equipment but would appreciate some bringing things to weld on. Rod, wire, gas.... FREE. We will meet at Wagners in Lockport NY after the "seminar" for a more thorough discussion and dinner. Dutch treat If I get too many people, it will be Friday and Saturday. My shop is small, 22 X 32, but set up well. I can only run ONE electric welder at a time due to electric demand and cost. I have a gas drive we can use for power (220) or welding power. So that makes 2 machines. If there is interest, I will open it up to PMs for directions etc.Members of this site only. I want people that WANT to learn.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:I,m not to far from you. I could bring 220 volt 3 phase power and a little compressed air if that would help. It would be nice to meet some new faces.

Reply:I am definitely interested. I'll keep tabs on this thread for further info. I'm also going to try to make it to Zap's for the next seminar. I travel from Clarence to NHIS a lot during the summer for racing. Bad crash this year = more time to do other things... gotta find a positive somewhere.Ryan
Reply:Would it be suitable for someone whom has never welded before, at least to observe and learn from you experts (I would promise to not be a nuisance, and would be willing to chip in some money for food/treats/whatever).I am shopping around for a TIG welder, and want to take some courses, I believe the session you plan would be a big help for me to gain some insight on the whole deal.BTW, do you have a High Speed internet connection in case I need to log in to work?Regards to all.Working on cars and bikes is my hobby, learning to weld the pieces together is my quest.
Reply:Sure you can come. Decide what skill you would like to work on and we will.I do not even have a low speed internet connection at work.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

ossibly a change in plans. Would anyone object to December 1st, 2nd, 8th or 9th? I might be helping some one move on thanksgiving. Unless of course you want to help? DavidLast edited by David R; 11-04-2007 at 06:21 AM.Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
