Hello all,I have a small fabrication shop in the DFW that makes old-school workout equipment. I need to find somewhere that sells circle blanks, 1"-1.5", I would like 11gauge, but would take 16gauge. For the life of me, I have been searching all the metal supply places...all without luck. If you have any suggestions, just post here.thanksForrest

o you think large washers would work Forrest? If so, run down to your local hardware/fastener outlet and see what they have.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:I get all my tabs and chassis parts from hereA&A MFGThey will also do custom pieceslook here on pages 10 and 11http://www.aa-mfg.com/pdshop/shop/ca...age=10&sortby=Last edited by TSOR; 05-18-2009 at 10:40 PM.
Reply:ask a fab shop to punch some holes of that size in some 11ga steel. keep the slugs from it.
Reply:I used to get such scraps from a local welding shop which had a laser cutter; it left a kerf in .065 stainless of ~.007, IIRC. The cut started in the center, moved out to the diameter and then circled. They wanted holes in the main part, not the 'holes'. Unfortunately, during the 'downturn' in the late 90's (?), Bob did lots of work for the electronics companies for which he never got paid, and lost the shop. I have no idea what it would cost to get such parts cut or punched by a similar shop; it might be worth considering if you can't use the washers. "Let your fingers do the walking" through the yellow pages?
Reply:Hey Forest,Did you try Kings Architectural Metals? If they don't have them, they can CNC plasma them.Where is your shop? You may be close to me. I am close to Rockwall.

Reply:I'm still not sure what "circle blanks" are, but it sounds like the consensus is a washer without a hole.If so...Go with a welch plug, soft plug, core plug, freeze plug... whatever you want to call ‘em...Attachment 33369Last edited by denrep; 10-19-2010 at 11:39 PM.
Reply:Forrest,Where are you located? You can get these plasma cut for a very low cost...how many do you need?Jim
Reply:TSOR hit it. A&A is good (and the cheapest I've found), as are just about any automotive chassis supply place. They're regularly used to cap off the open ends in tubing for racecar chassis.
Reply:Most any fab shop with a decent size ironworker could punch out as many as you needed at little cost, especially if you provided the stock material.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc.
