It is a y-2240 that a friend is giving me. I put a need tip, cone and all on the end but when I hook it up it will not cut. If I touch the tip to the metal it will spark. Any help would be great. THANKS

ets start with the obvious, you have the ground attached to the work piece? you did put a insulator between the electrode and tip right? you have air or nitrogen hooked to it right? the metal is not so rusty that it will not make a connection? always start with the basics
