I just finished uploading a bunch of pictures of the Southern Motors truck project I've been working on to my gallery on my website - CLICK HERE.If you then click on the first gallery you'll see all the pics I posted a couple of weeks ago first, then some new pics including the complete chassis and even a few with drivetrain and bodywork...  Enjoy...  BTW - I did not do the welding on the chassis itself; that was all a welder at Panoz.  I did build the I-Beam base for the fixture and used my Esab Plasmarc 1500 to cut the beams - you might see the yellow plasma hiding in some of the pics.  Oh, and there are a few new pics under the mandrel bending gallery as well.JasonLast edited by TubularFab; 08-31-2007 at 04:26 PM.

Reply:Thanks for the compliments guys!  Working for Panoz has definitely helped me get opportunities to work on some neat projects...David - I'm not sure where in the gallery you could see examples of my welding.  I didn 't really do any of the welding visible in the pics in the truck gallery.  I find myself trying to achieve ZTFAB's level but it is still WAY out of my reach.  I have full confidence in the quality and integrity of my mig welding; I just would like to get the appearance up to a higher level.

Reply:First of all - nice work! Second, what motor is that for the truck - it looks  like a supercharged 5.4 (or 4.6) and lastly, is there an advantage to using round tubing? Reply:I just thought you guys would like to know what ya'll did to my website stats after looking at this post.  Within 24 hours of my post with the link my website traffic, hits, users, etc all jumped by a factor of 10!  That set a new record for me as far as the stats go...  Thanks for looking!Oh, and yes, that is the ford 5.4 liter engine and 6 speed tranny lifted from the new Shelby GT500.  It's HUGE...  Takes up way more space that 5.4 liters should...Last edited by TubularFab; 09-08-2007 at 11:53 PM.
