Yes, another Welding Table QuestionPlease do not flame me. I did the search and have read most of the three pages of threads about the topic. Plus I’m a hell of nice guy!Top is 72”x50”Top’s weight is 380 Lbs3/8” thickHere is the plan:3” 3/16” square stock for legs and frame3” over hangHere are my questions:1.Do you think the 3” square stock @3/16 is enough for the legs and frame?2.Where do you get casters from? I would like steel ones. 3.Do I want adjustable casters to level the table? 4.Should I make the over hang more than 3”?
Reply:Over engineered...I'm going to   now......zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:I'd be interested in learning about these leveling casters. I'm moving my whole shop out to my garage for more space and added fire safety. The guys that poured the concrete for the floor did a rotten job. Sure it's sappose to slope towards the overhead door, but it's wavy in spots and in some places the rock is sticking up. Can't see how I'm gonna make square or accurate welds on a table that's slanted, eh?Has granger changed thier selling policies? Last time I tried to buy something there they wanted me to pay with a buisness check or prove I owned my own company. I also want to go out on a limb here and ask an odd question. I'm looking to build a table that's 72"x36" and that's with a 2" over hang. Would there be any problems with buying it in sections, I don't have a large vehicle or a trailer to haul a single piece that large (1/4" thick). I'm also debating on wiether I wish to use square stock for a bottom shelf vs a solid one. Can I get a few opinions on this as well?thanks, Jax
Reply:Thanks guysZap the reason for the caster question is my garage floor slopes (as most do) to the drain in the center of the floor.I will make a 6" inch over hang. Glade I asked I was thinking 2 inch at first. Over engineered! "Reber"  means "do all jobs the hard way" it is a famliy curse. Also zap tell me about the car (the one doing a nice smoky burn out)Reber
Reply:You may not believe this but at first I thought you were Dave R that came to my last welding clinic and put one on himself!Sorry about the mix up..About the car seeing as this is your thread that's my buddy Louie's car..We built it with a stick welder back in '79..Mild steel chasis and cage..Has been updated over the years but still basically like we built it..Was the cover car in "Bracket Racing U.S.A." mag in Sept.'93..427 Ford "FE"..4 sp Lenco..Homemade Intake by ...zap!Best ET..MPH..8.84 @ 154'n change..Check it out..http://www.weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread...ghlight=Intake...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
