Finally got the job going.  Cut out the cylinder mounts, drilled the pin holes with my Mag Drill, tacked the mounts in place, and installed the cylinder.  I'll run the hoses this afternoon, and if the darned rain stops, I'll get the tractor out of the barn and hook it up to see if I have any problems before welding it out. Reply:An update.  Rain stopped for awhile, got the tractor out, hooked it up, works great.  Finished the welds, and now painting it.  1st pic is of the finished weld on the pivot mount.  2nd pic is finished weld on stationary mount (top), 3rd pic is the position I welded the bottom of the stationary mount, 4th pic is close up of that weld.  I'll take a pic when totally finished, mounted on the tractor.  See, us old geezers DO weld once in awhile.  Attached Images
Reply:Now you don't have to get off to reset the backblade angle.  NiceLittle parts seem to soak up a lot of time"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:that will make grading the drive way a lot easier now you need a tilt cylinder for the other axis www.burdettenetworks.com
Reply:Nice Work PA!!! Except now that new piece looks much better than the rest of the original 3 PT scraper.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.&  2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.

Reply:Wow! Farmer you did a great job cutting that steel with a O/A torch to get those clean cuts!! That or you did some grinding to smooth it all off. I would have thought a Plasma Cutter did it.Co-Own CNC shop:Miller :1251 plasma cutter, MaxStar 700 TIG/Stick, & XMT 456 Multiprocess Welder.&  2 Hypertherm HPR260's Plasma CutterSorry I had a bad stroke but now I am back.
Reply:All cuts made with O/A and a guide.  O set at 10 PSI, A set at 60 PSI.  Very little grinding required.  The job was too small for me to dig out my Track Torch.

Reply:Nice I may borrow that one for sure. Now all you need is a hyraulic top link and you're made.
Reply:Finally got it done.  Painted and stored in the barn.  The channels you see sticking up are to hold a concrete block for added weight.  The tray holds a 6"x6" solid steel square.  I have a gizzmo rigged up with 3 "ripper teeth" that I can mount on the blade for loosening hard ground.  I doubt if a modern scrapper blade would hold up to that work.  This thing is probably 60 years old. Reply:Nice job, sure wish Our blade would have had one of those. One question/suggestion.......Did you ever think about turning the cylinder around, i.e. ram forward? The reason I ask is that if you ever had the opportunity to move loose dirt with the blade and the blade loaded up, there might be some "overflow" around the cylinder end which is right by that seal. It might get pretty nasty over time and while you worked the cylinder with all that grit the seal might getting eating up over time. If you turned it around then it would be farther away from a loaded blade and dirt wouldn't be as apt to get on the ram.
