Well today I was finally fed up with myself for having filler rod all over the shop, and office!1 1/2 angle 1/4 round rod, mig (which I don't do much of)Holes are just over 2 inches and I would go larger (now that its finished)! 9x9 yes 81 openings. At first while thinking about it I thought about 30 holes would do until I started counting holders and loose rod types. Plenty of openings for new rod.How much filler does one man need? What do you have?Peter Attached Images
Reply:Used clamp in spreader position to try to "adjust" wobble, or uneven legs. Clamp is claimed capable of 2900 lbs forceHad to use the old farm jack trick, and had to pull pretty hard on handle. I guess I could say this was also to test welds Probably needed a couple tons of force to adjust. I have lifted as much as 4 tons with this (its rated AT 6 TONS). Attached Images
Reply:Wow!  That sure is alot of rod there Peter.  Nicely designed and built.  I especially like the corners.Must have felt funny not having to pre/post heat that thing in your oven. You're going to wonder how you ever got by without it.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!

Reply:you suck! you have the corner clamp i wanted that is one COOL rack for rod holdersI'm so cheap, i put filler rods that has 3 inches back into the rod holder (pvc pipe type).  My holders are horizontal, so its right the top and front.  with a cart like yours, would you just take out the whole holder and dump out the shorties? or you just throw away the small pieces?

Was hoping someone would give ideas to improve. Already I wish I had gone with larger than 2 1/16 holes!ThanksPeter

Reply:Gussets.  And mudflaps.  Fold-down (drop-down) handles on the front to make it easier to move around? And replace the plywood (?) bottom with some metal.    The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:definitely ash tray
ReplyTIG rod round up, rod holderrobably really heavy, so maybe an electric motor to help you out ..... and a T-handle to steer it .... then I suppose if you're REALLY feeling lazy, add a seat .......
