I wouldnt normally mention something like this.  But it impressed the hell out of me tonight.  I made that several pound pile of s.s. dust out of what remains of a Norton Norzon Plus grinding disk. It took me about 4 hours to get it down to that diameter. Attached ImagesCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:a lot of years ago (40 or more) i ran some metal finish classes for ford at the norton plant near ithaca,new york.during the plant  tour,norton showed off the quality of their sanding belts (24 inches wide ) by sanding the print off both sides of a newspaper without tearing the paper.

Reply:i don't love grinding and it is a dirty afar...... i some times take the gaurdes off if there in the way of what i am doing at the time but they usually good to have on there for my safety fro when i use and when people use it. i am usually more worried about people using my tools and hurting me with them. do they make a good disk for grinding aluminum?i wish osha would do inspection at my old bosses place that place was really dangerous some times. i complained all the time about stuff that i feel was unsafe.syncrowave 180 sd
Reply:I dont generally mind grinding as long as I dont have to do it for like an hour straight... Actually, what gets me is drilling holes!! I H A T E it!! Reply:Just seems like you can't trust Norton for consistancy from batch to batch. Could be just me too. I hate wheels that don't move metal and last forever. I throw those in the trash. Reply:The best aluminum grinding disk I have run across has been by Klingspor.  Unfortunately I cant find a good source online.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.

Reply:I like the Norton stuff but I like the klingspor stuff better. klingspor was nice enough to send a rep by the shop once a month with a handfull of free goodies. Since my foreman was never gonna order any he let me take 'em home.Go klingspor!!!!!!MLM
