I don't know how many of you guys use these CK Fuses in your power feed to your water cooled TIG torch, but I bought one a couple years ago after burning up a nice set of cables/hoses.I was getting High Freq but not any current. I kept pressing the pedal like a jakazz until the little light in my head went on. Duh, check the coolant. I was low on coolant and the fuse blew. I was smart to put that fuse in there! I only wish I was smart enough not to waste an hour in the owners manual trying to troubleshoot what I had already foreseen!!If you are dumb like me you want to get one of these! The picture shows the fuse holder on top, the new fuse in the middle and the blown fuse on the bottom. Reply:Thiel,I got it here: http://www.ckworldwide.com/fuse_block.htmWell, they don't seem to have a price on their website now. I am attaching a pic of my Lincoln unit. The connectors are pretty standard, I think. Anyways, I installed the fuse at the welder, then installed the torch connection to the fuse.Hope that helps. And I had this fuse listed for sale on this forum for 50bucks. What a dummy I am! Reply:Rather than give you the wrong answer, I would refer you to CK. They are awesome people. I mean, really great customer service. I had a problem and a VP called me back about it. I am going to need a new set of fuses as well, so whoever finds out first, post it up. I went from a 250amp TIG to a 340amp TIG, so my fuse will need to be changed, I am sure.Thanks,Joker11Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:I have looked into the ESAB version but they were fairly expensive.I will be looking into the CK version.
Reply:We use those on the miller synchro 351's at work but ours are bigger. Maintenance sent out an update to use 2 in the block because one tends to blow real easily with a full tank on the cooler.Welding Supervisor Department of Corrections.
Reply:Big65,You mean use two fuses in one holder? So, for a 300amp machine, are you saying to use two 150amp fuses, or two 300amp fuses? I am confused. Yours are bigger? the fuse block? or the fuse?what do you mean a full tank on the cooler?Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:Block and the fuse are both bigger so probably older than yours. I'm not sure why the maintenance department wants us to use two considering that you have to really work the second fuse onto the pins and it restricts the coolant flow more. I believe the fuses are rated 300amp but the machine blows them about once a week and its an old box so its not surprise. The cooler is an aftermarket one that was mentioned on here recently but I'm forgetting what its name is.Welding Supervisor Department of Corrections.
Reply:I called CK. They said they only have one fuse size. Since my fuses are 265amps, I assume that is the one size.
