I have been given about 50+lbs of unopened rods. Thing is they are marked: 94LC-16I initially thought they were a stainless rod but they are very magnetic, not a property of 300 series stainless. I done a search but nothing even close. I tried a mil-spec search still no luck. They are packaged in all metal 2 piece slip-type tubes. I would appreciate any help.

Reply:If you could sent a few of us a #5 or #10 sample, we might be able to tell you by how they perform. Are any of the packages open, and if so, are there any other markings of color codes on the individual rods? Is there a maker's name, or are these old Military supplies? BTW, what size (both diameter and length) are they?
Reply:Thanks for the effort guys. I found out today they are E9018-B3 rods. The # didn't actually mean anything maybe a contract #? Yes, they are mil-spec rods.
Reply:You will want to keep the rods sealed. They are low hydrogen rods and once opened should be stored in a rod oven for best results. Moisture will kill these just like 7018..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Sorry for not responding sooner, I didn't catch the question. The tubes were stored in a box the printing on one of the tubes was transferred to the bottom of the box, so it was there just reversed. The rods had worked kind of like the old dot matrix printer and transferred the ink to the bottom of the box
