stainless overflow tank going on my 1968 cougar. It's thin gauge material so the welds didn't turn out as nice as I wanted them too. The edges are a little grey in color but just a little clear coat and some brackets which I will build later and it will be good to go. Attached Images

Reply:any criticism or remarks on why stainless would turn nasty grey colors would be appreciated. It seems like I chose too thin of material which got too hot. but it's what I had and didn't feel like buying anything else. thanks,josh

Replyickling Paste works really well to take that discoloration off. It takes about 20mins of sitting with the paste on it, and about 2min of scrubbing with a scotchbrite and rinse. We do it all the time with pipe welds.
