i am looking to build a false floor ramp for my truck to be able to put my zero turn mower in and out of my truck. i want to do this style ramp because it will allow me to have an 8 foot ramp and be able to slide it under the mower when it is loaded so i dont have a big ramp draging wind. anyone have any pics of one they have made.
Replyo you have a wide, one-piece ramp now or will you buy/fab one to match up with the false floor?False floors used to be very common here for some reason.  It seemed at least half the guys with ATVs would build a simple false floor using a sheet of plywood and 2x4s.  It seems everyone who owned an Argo did this.  You don't see it nearly as much now - not sure why but possibly because folding ramps are more readily available, lighter and cheaper - a lot of the false floor rigs seemed to use homemade wooden ramps.If you can safely use two narrower ramps that can be set in the bed beside or beneath the mower you may not need the false floor.  Remember that the false floor adds height that the ramps have to reach and the mower will have to climb that.  Maybe not an issue if your truck's a 2 wheel drive Ranger, possibly a major issue if the truck's a 4x4 F-250 with a lift kit..."These instructions are at our present level ofknowledge. Reply:well the mower weighs 1200 lbs with me on it. I will be un loading about ten time a day. this is why it needs to be built from steel. I drive a 2wd f150 v6 stick.

Reply:when driving a zero turn mower into a truck.bed you want all the ramp.you can have for stability. a one piece ramp will not move if you have to turn going up the ramp. if you have to make an adjustment on a two ramp system one of the ramps will move and could spell disaster. almost happened on my walkbehind mower one time.
