Hello, recently I picked up a hobart champ 1435 which is a generator and 140amp DC stick welder, it has a honda engine that runs very well.  I got it for $350 and it seems to weld really well.  I had a mig and wanted a stick and it just so happened this was a good deal and I also wanted a generator.  I don't see much info on this unit though, maybe they were never really popular?I was just wondering if anyone ever used them and what their opinion was.  I know 140amp is not a power house but it seems to do everything I need it to.Thanks,Matt
Replyooks like a heck of a deal. I probably would have jumped on it for that cheap. The generator output is limited but still good for running any grinders, drills, etc in the field. In case you didn't find it, here is a link to the manual: http://www.hobartwelders.com/om/0400/o498c_hob.pdfGravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
