Have a chance to buy a Lincoln Mig Pak 15, packaged specifically for Canadian Tire. Seems to be old stock still new in box. Retailed at Canadian Tire for $749, looks like they marked it down to $499, now its in the clearance section for 50% of last price. $250 plus 12%HST tax in BC. $280. Looks like this model sold without a regulator and hose. Can buy Morris aka IOxygen 200-FL argon/CO2 flow meter and hose from Princess Auto for $79. So total $360 for 175 amp 230v mig welder. Seems to have same specs as SP175.
Reply:Yes, I would grab it!  One 'H' of a welder for $250!This older thread describes finding mine - http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=6117Basically the MIG Pak 15 is an SP-175T without the gas hose/regulator.  The insides of the CTC sold MIG Pak 15 and the SP-175T sold at the local BOC welding store were identical - and I unscrewed all the covers for my detailed comparison.  What was plastic on one was plastic on the other; metal on one was metal on the other - only the face plate was different.(Note: This is not the case today with the Lincoln 180 replacement as the Pricess Auto unit has a plastic wire drive while the BOC unit has a metal wire drive.)I'm happy with mine - lots of power and smooth arc.  I paid $550 on sale - more than 2X what you could pick your unit up for - so get it fast before someone else walks off with it.Rick V 1 Airco Heliwelder 3A/DDR3 CTC 70/90 amp Stick/Tig Inverters in Parallel1 Lincoln MIG PAK 151 Oxy-Acet

Reply:Thanks for the feedback. Was able to get back to the store and grabbed the Mig Pak. Notice the new Mig Pak 180 includes the argon gauges and hose and was on sale this week for $599. But happy with the Mig Pak 15 till I get comfortable learning to weld.
Reply:Congrates steemer!  Given this 'new' unit was 1/2 the price of the newer replacement, I think you did real good.  In fact, I'm kind of jealous that one of my local CTC stores was not having a clearout sale like that.  My guess is that it is a 'local' thing to that particular store.  I don't think I could have resisted another MIG Pak 15 at $250... even though I have one!
