Hello everyone, I am new to this forum.I would like to get some feed back on the tab and slot welding table. I am thinking of having a 4x8 table made and for the price that I was quoted it seems like a very good deal. A little about my background, I am a boiler maker by trade 25yrs and I have a small home based fabrication business that my wife and I have operated since 1998. Some of the jobs include building drag racing and pro street cars but that takes up a lot of time. I would like to concentrate more on ornamental welding, hand rails, metal art, furniture and small jobs. That is where the table comes into place. I have a 1/2" 4x8 welding table that I have used since 1998 but I am getting tired of welding MY FIXTURES to the table and then have to grind the welds off the table after the completion of the job. What are your thoughts on the build pro max or the tab & slot welding table?
Reply:A couple guys here have the build pro tables I think, I built one similar, just without the holes (which I can add later) You can clamp almost anywhere, and drill holes as needed for fixtures. Well that's what I did, and it only cost me about $1250 in steel. But if you do a lot of fixturing/jig stuff then you might benefit from buying vs building, but it really depends on your specific type of work. http://www.philswelding.com
Reply:Thank you for the feed back .Good looking table. What size plates where you using and can u use any of the build pro clamping systems?
Reply:I used 5/8" by 6" if I want to use their system I can just drill or machine some holes http://www.philswelding.com
