Do you guys think a hf 180 mig with 90/10 could spray transfer with a good 100000uf cap mod and a pwm for the motor drive?General consensus is with the cap you bump it up to 210-225 ampsAny thoughts or personal experiences?Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Reply:Most small machines say in the 200 amp roughly range aren't going to spray solid wire.  At best they usually go into globular transfer. They simply don't have the voltage for high argon mixes to get into spray. They rely on the reactive properties of the CO2 in the mix to help them get the heat they need with the wire. If it's going to work, you are going to be using small wire to get it to spray. Spraying .024 wire isn't really going to get you anywhere. Even .030 wire isn't going to do much for you. Most guys are spraying .045 or larger wire to lay down material and you aren't going to do that with that machine..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:The bigger issue is really your light duty gun WILL NOT survive spray transfer.... end of story.... guys doing a lot of spray transfer are using water cooled guns or at least a 300 or 400 amp gun.
