Reply:two things to check. If it has a build in cooler, remove the left side and check the elbows going into the tank. see if the are brass or steel. use a magnet.If steel you will want to install the new brass kit. Old steel ones are almost rusted closed. On any model check the right side. Look at the HF points.If the holder is black plastic you will want to change then to the update kit. A HF points on a red base should be ok unless the points are worn out from heavy use.If it has a yellow HF cap next to the points you many want to change that also. $200 to $300 in parts. Otherwise just make sure everything works and can weld in both AC and DC. remember Green band tungsten doesn't like to start in DC. Red band will work in AC and DC.Depending on what you find you might be able to get a few hundred off the price. If welder does not work. Call Miller with the serial number and see if the control pcb is available for that welder and has not been obsoleted. The control pcb has a small computer on it and if the computer died or the memory circuits failed, they are not repairable. If available the pcb is over $1000.
