So what does everone use? Price per unit? order or local? Brands? ---------------------Getting ready to start a big project so I need stock back up on wheels as Im down to use nubs. Yes I get my moneys worth. So what ever one useing?
Reply:I use cutoff wheels once in a while, and lots of flap discs. I just made an order from Lehigh Valley Abrasives. They have a great reputation and awesome prices. I got their red ceramic ones to try out. They were like $3 each, where locally they're like $5-7 each, and are really thin and don't last long at all. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Reply:I've used "Keen Abrasives", and "BenchMark Abrasives" from ebay several times for both 5" cutoff wheels and flap discs. ferd, Kilngspor, and Metabo. Tyrolit, to a lesser extent based on availability. Image below highlights some of the cutoff/slicer abrasives we use in 4-1/2" and 6" for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Prefer the .040" thickness. Pferd, and several other manufacturers, even offer .035" but never tried 'em. Our LWS sells Metabo, Pferd, and Walter. We purchase the Klingspor via LVA. Posted prices below are averages based on online sources. Our LWS does their best to match online prices. Reply:I used to do Lehigh now I prowl ebay. You can get some monster deals there for some reason.I never really liked cutoff wheels all that much before I got some cubitron II 4" They were like .70 each. I like them so much I got about 150 in the basement along with probably 500 other wheels.Buy in bulk. To me buying local is like shopping groceries in a store that offers fuel perks and thinking you are getting ahead.
Reply:I like CGW/ Camel. I usually get the the flap discs around $3.50 a piece from my LWS. Longest lasting discs I have used. Made in the USA too
Reply:I use Norton Gemini stones and .045 cut off wheels. I get them for right around $1.50-1.60 each. I also use a lot of flap discs but will use just whatever of them. Reply:I prefer norton abrasives, all though they can get costly at times. If you are looking for a really really good grinding disk of any kind Walter abrasives but they tend to cost way more than they should, but you can get a lot more mileage out of a disk. However if your in a pinch on a customer project or just starting out on a low budget metabo and dewalt are pretty good abrasives.
