CWI Exam ... What did you take with you?

go to see Welding Machine for CWI Exam ... What did you take with you?

I am taking my CWI exam at the end of this month and i was wondering what you would suggest taking to the exam that would be helpful.  Aside from the obvious code book, book of specs, confirmation letter, pencils, calculators, stuff listed on the info sheet from the AWS .... what else would be helpful?I am definitely taking ear plugs to muffle out the nervous ticks and taps of other people.  I am going to take a few snacks and water.  What did you take?  What did you wish you had but you didnt?  What did you take that was useless? Reply:I took the AWS CWS exam a few years ago. They provided beverages and snacks, as well as earplugs. I brought all my books, notes, and a scientific calculator.I believe that we were told to bring a couple of #2 pencils.The tests are proctored, so don't bring a lot of extra stuff. Reply:From all that I've encountered, the 2 week course (seminar) was the more horrific of the two. As far as the test itself goes I would recommend bringing gum and a hack-proof train of thought. Good luck brother, I hope you pass!
Reply:Get the strongest reading glasses you can find. You don't want to mess around trying to hold a scale, a magnifing glass and a weld sample with just two hands. Be careful of what you eat that morning and the day before. even a mild case of food posioning will ruin your day.What have you been studying?

Reply:Took the exam today.  Finished part A and B with time to spare, and i feel very confident on those two parts.  Part C I was able to go back 3 times (working progressively more in depth questions) and finished with 1 minute to spare.  2 questions on that section were an educated guess as i could not properly reference the answer but i could eliminate a few of the wrong choices.  All in all, it was pretty close to what i expected and fairly in line with what i have heard ... as long as you prepare, you should be ok, but it is far from easy.AWS CWI xxxx21711968 SA200  Originally Posted by WelderMike  I hate being bipolar, It's awesome.
