Howdy All,I've had my Miller 180 Autoset for a week or 2 and I'm having a blast learning MIG process. Built a few nifty projects. my welds look a bit bad but improving. When I pull the trigger on the gun, should not there be 2 switches in sequence-- first the gas comes on and then as I pull the trigger the rest of the way down the current and wire feed starts? This would make sense. My gun seems to just have one switch so I end up wasting some wire to prime the hose with gas mix. Plus the hassle of having to clip off a few inches of wire each start. Or should I just let the weld start and not worry if there's gas in the hose end?
Reply:If you feel the need to purge the hose:Voltage to zip, wire feed to zip, squeeze trigger, purge, put settings back. But you only need to purge at the beginning of a session.
Reply:Beauty in simplicity. Thanks.
