Reply:Well probably something in the 3kw range is an at a glance guess. However you will be hard pressed to find any low budget gen set of any size with more than a 15 amp 120 volt receptacle any way, so that will be your limiter. That puts you back at the 2kw size. The other issues are if this is as they say, a flux core only unit, you won't be welding with all the types and sizes of wire they proclaim in the ad. Very misleading info there. Reply:You see that "Imax" rating of 36A?  Well that's how much amperage t can potentially pull at it's hottest settings.  Thsi automatically means you need a generator that has a 30A locking plug, which means you will have to rewire the plug on the welder to a locking plug.  110V x 36A = 3,960W.  If the welder has a low power factor you might want to add in about 25% to the required generator capability.  3960 x 1.25 ≈ 5000W.  A generator that can supply 5000 continuous running watts will satisfy that welder with likely zero issues. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig!
