Why did I paint my new SWAG HD finger brake kit Ford engine blue?Ya'll know this old hotrodder is queer for Chevy gear, but he painted his $300 finger brake kit Ford Blue!No, I didn't get a sex change, I had good reason to stop and go fetch that color paint....If you recall, my last SWAG press brake broke my old 20 ton press, and that was the LIGHT duty version SWAG  press...This new one is the heavy duty version, so I bought new press to install it in, and decided this time I'd take precautions not to break new press.The best way to DERATE the capacity of your shop tools by at least 20% is to paint them Ford engine blue....Bet you didn't know that, huh?It's the same for engines you build. Paint your fresh built Ford engine Chevy competion orange if you want 20% extra free HP.So ok, here is the completed SWAG heavy duty finger brake, but now that I explained, please don't let the color detract from the finished machine.I got 300 bucks and a dozen fresh Excal 7018 rods, and a new flap disc invested it, so it ain't like I didn't care how it lookes.
Reply:BTW, if you want to turn your press brake kit into a precision tool, take time before you weld er up to mill the radius out of lower die angle iron.

Reply:Ok, time to test this bugger.....I laid a 7" long piece of 1/4" thick x 1.75" flat scrap in her and pretended I needed it bent into 90 Degree angle iron.She didn't even grunt.  This thang can bend yer gender straight!
