Planned to purchase a Lincoln Square Wave 200 (and get the extended warranty) in the next month or so.Just noticed a local offer for a Miller 210 Syncrowave in "new condition".The final price will be about the same.Wondering if the 210 Syncro is a bit more "industrial" of a machine. I realize that neither machine are intended for heavy usage, but I can't afford the Dynasty 280DX I hope to eventually get. Reply:go with new and warranty..regardless of brand...there are several threads here about the lincoln sw200 and some have put it through its paces and it lives...I have mine for over a year and still no issues and I have the extended warranty 5 years cover to cover....
Reply:take this for what its worth. The guy at my LWS just sold a new synchro and it was a dud... Guys was pissed, etc etc...He says miller sends a list of refurb machines, ones that get sent back, gone through fixed, etc. Like new, at a discounted price... He said there were enough of the 210s on it for him to steer people to the red.- Christian M.C3 Welding & Fabrication - CNC Plasma Cutting-Mobile Welding-Custom welding and fabwww.c3welding.com

Reply:Okay thanks for the input.I have been using a Miller Syncro 200 the past few days, helping out on a big aluminium job. Its a decent enough machine but for this job (lots of 3/16" thick angle and plate) the 200 amps is just enough. 250 or more would be nice.I have a month or two booked solid (some welding but mostly help harvesting) so I can keep an eye out for used machines or perhaps have enough cash saved by then to buy a bigger machine. But if not I am sure I will be very happy with a SW 200.Red Seal Journeyman Welder (2003), Red Seal Journeyman Metal Fabricator (2018), Welding Engineering Technologist (2005)Pressure - ASME Section IXStructural - CSA W47.1, CSA W47.2Transport tanker - CSA B620Aerospace - AWS D17.1
