Guys, Sorry for asking this as I'm certain all of you have answered this many times. I purchased a Millermatic 211 about 3 months ago. Now I'm looking at a Tig machine. With my budget I've narrowed it to a Diversion 180 or Syncrowave 200. (I sure wish I was asking about a Dynasty but not right now.) Which of the two is the best option? Thanks
Reply:With welding equipment ALWAYS, ALWAYS buy the most amps you can afford. Then look at options and capabilities. Used Miller and Lincoln are a great option as well.

o you know how to tig? If no buy the Diversion180. That is just my opinion . I hope to put another one in at California State University at Northridge soon. I agree with you, the Dynastys are desirable. That is why you hardly see them for sale used.I use mine on 115volts quit a bit. Inverters make that happen for me.Nothing wrong with a syncrowave though. I am just an inverter guy and like low power bills.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.

The Diversion machines are TIG only & any alterations to their factory torch setup will likely void the warranty.IMHO of course
Reply:Another thing to consider is input amperage a service requirements. The Sync draws 54 amps at full power according to Miller, and recommends 80 amp breaker or 60 amp time delay fuses. Basically requiring the consideration of a 60 amp service. If you have that then that is good. The Diversion180 inverter which is comparable to the Dynasty200 inverter, has a rated input amps of 20, and a service recommendation of 30 amp breaker or fuse at full 180 amps and 230 volt input power. Weight for the Diversion180 is 50 lbs. versus 238 lbs. for the Sync200. Reply:Hi Shovelon,Nope, I'm in "training" with a friend that welded steam pipes and the like for a living. He retired 2 years ago and welds aluminum and stainless for local businesses and the marina. So, the short answer to your question is absolutely not. This is why I asked you guys. You've forgotten more about this than I'll probably ever know. I don't like high electric bills either and with the seat time I need, I'll be running it as often as I can.I guess it'll be the 180. Thanks to all of you.Mossy
