Nearing completion.  Custom design/build for Jeep'n offroad and trail ops.  1-3/8" x .095 wall 1020 DOM tubing.  5/16" thick mild steel hinges sliced from 2-1/2" solid bar.  TIG'd with 1/16" ER70-S6.  Images show hinges and initial test fit.  Client's requirement for an increased "open air" look resulted in the tubular door centerline outside/above the vehicle's OEM door centerline.  Fab'n interface plates to integrate the AutoLoc - Mini Bear Claw Latch to the doors.  Plates will have x-y adjustment to provide a solid, safe, and secure connection to the Jeep.The Pro-Tools 105MB Bender (indexable), JD2 NotchMaster (upgraded), and Metabo BE1100 Drill earned a workout.  After final polishing, the assemblies will be shot with VHT enamel clear coat.  Attached Images"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Replyooks good so far, but consider putting another horizontal piece between the hinges to the angled down tube.  Then in the event of a possible roll over, it will help to contain legs inside the passenger compartment rather than flopping out the opening and getting crushed. Or else cover the whole frame with expanded metal for the same reason. You don't want ANY body parts extended outside the body work in the event of a roll over.

Replyooks like that rearward horizontal bar ends up being an arm rest. Customer needs to finish up with some padded wrap that goes over it.
