Hi allI have a Miller Blu-pak 45 welderand a Miller 20 Series 24 volt Wire FeederThe problem i had last week was the Wire feeder smoking a lot and when looked at the circuit board i found that a chip had melted. The problem is i don't have a circuit diagram to show what this chip is or what it does so i can get a replacement. The guy from the local welder repairs says i need a new board costing £180 ($400) i'd sooner try and replace the damaged chip first though.Does anyone know why i can get the circuit diagram from the wire feed? Thanks
Reply:Ok I've managed to find a circuit diagram from the Miller Site, I just need to identify the chip in the top lefthand corner marked with a red "X"Last edited by Gerry1964; 08-04-2013 at 03:38 AM.
Replyooks like it is labeled GDS which would mean it should be a Mosfet.Though having 4 pins would make it a bit more exotic.
Reply:Thanks everyone and thanks Steve Its a bit of a nightmare when something like this goes wrong I was looking for the part that got fried Hadn't thought of perhaps the reason for it doing so, so i may replace it and it happens again :-(Mind you it was the Hottest day of the year so far in the UK when it happened, but to be honest i don't think the heat had much to do with it.Might just pay top dollar this time, and then perhaps look for a spare machine just for parts, You sometimes pick these blu paks up pretty cheap on ebay although these ones in good condition normally go for around £1300 (about $3000)
Reply:Thanks for that steve i'll wait till the engineer gets back to me, I guess its best to get the whole board checked out by them first its a nightmare to buy another board and the same thing happens again.I'll let you know more when i find out from them Cheers matey
Reply:I have the board you are looking for. Miller part# 207272 I dont know anything about it But it was in a sealed bag If nothing else maybe the parts you need? Attached Images
