Im not to familiar with the brand name, but ive heard it tossed around here and there. Im very curious how these machines compare to the three big names or lower there of. They seem to have one of the BEST warrantys that I have seen as of yet, but given that I question the qaulity of the the machine. Please post up pro\'s/con\'s and any experience with the brand Clarke! Im primarily looking at the Mig welders (flux and gas).regards,        Rob
Reply:Rob - run a search on here for "clarke" and you will see some excellent results. I personally have the 130EN and can't be happier with that size MIG. It's been going 2 years, non-stop, everyday. The feed mechanism is excellent, it's relatively quiet, compared to my Miller TIG and keeps on working. Cons: I should have bought another Clarke big amp MIG to go along side it.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:I have their small ac buzz box to play with at home and it works very well for a small stick machine.

Reply:I got the 180en based on the general opinions about the company and even Micro's thoughts on his purchase.  For what I wanted/need as a hobbist just learning to weld I thought they offered the best bang for my buck and a name as opposed to saving money and getting a no name or HF unit. I've only had it a few weeks so I can't say much about pro's con's etc.I checked around the web and found most people thought pretty high of them at least for general use by the home user or light/moderate 'builder'.  I didn't run into any bad experiences from what I remember so I'm comfortable I made a good decision for what I plan on using it for.
Reply:I've got a 180EN that I have been very happy with.  I've built a bunch of stuff for the hunting lease (Tripods and ladder stands), fixed a camry exhaust leak, made a gate/Ramp for my utility trailer, and a couple of other odd jobs.  It uses Tweco tips, diffusers, and nozzles (same as the Tweco #2 gun consumables) which are easy to find, and pretty cheap.  I've never hit the duty cycle wall, but, I can't say I'm a heavy duty welder either.  I run straight CO2 for my shielding gas.  I'm actually about to sell it,....not becuase I don't like it, but because I now have a need for a 110v machine to compliment my now primary 220v MIG setup: Thermal Arc 300GMS CV/CC power supply and Hobart Porta Feed 17.  In fact, I just used the 180EN to make the Welding/Plasma cart for the 300GMS and Cutmaster 38.AS long as your not at a production level of welding, I think you will be satisfied with the Clarke's MIG welders.  They are usually a really good buy.good luck, cricman

Reply:Clarke are a very good machine not too damaging to the wallet.
Reply:I have the 130EN Clarke Mig, and it's a great 110v welder. I mainly weld 10ga material, and it does an excellent job. I'm thinking about buying a Clarke 180EN 220v machine for the added versatility. They are the best buy out there IMHO.Clarke 130EN C25Lincoln 225 AC Stick(1968)Smith O/A RigHF 4X6 Red BandsawBlack & Decker Pro Chopsaw16 Speed Drill PressSpeedglas XL HelmetHarbor Freight Stuff
