As crazy as it sounds, my question is this, I have heard many people telling me to use:distilled waterdistilled 50/50 alchoholMixed automotive anti freezecoolant from welding supplythe reason i ask about windex / windshield washer fluid is because on turbo cars, they use water methanol, basically water and alchohol which is practically washer fluid injected into a fine mist, so... is washer fluid or windex a useable cooling solution in a welding cooler? I drew the short straw and am stay at home dad becaues my wife gets our family excellent health benefits working at the hospital. monday through friday im at home with the kids, my welding supply is closed at 5pm, not open on the weekends so that leaves me trying to be resourceful to what fluids Walmart would carry that I can use if im in a bind for coolant. Id prefer to find something local and not have to order online do to my un ability to leave the house since my wife also takes my Explorer to work thus leaving me without a ride.

Reply:if i ever did you anything like the above, it would be as an emergency until the new coolant arrived, sincve i will likely have to order online and shipping is about 3 dyas average to me USPS and 5 days ups and the dredded fedex week and a half at max.

Reply:then buy a gallon of miller coolant to keep on the shelf, and in an emergency just add water to it, if you use anything else , what will the reaction to the miller coolant? then you can have more issues...why look for problems when plenty will find you on there own..lol
