In order to help others avoid being taken in by the deceptive employment practices of this company I wish others in the welding community to be aware of the following. This company has been advertising around the country on the internet for "Welding Foreman" for some time.   Having just completed 1 year and 2 days employment with this company I can assure you that the position of "Welding Foreman" (or for that matter a position called "Welding Group Leader") does not currently (nor ever has) actually existed at this place.   It is simply a scam to hire people to fill low paying welders positions by giving them the false impression that the opportunity for advancement (and higher wages) exists at this company.
Reply:Heard that they are another casualty of the oil bust....Closing up in Montana.....shame
Reply:thats a shame.    i don't like to hear about things like that.   why don't you give me there main phone number, and a few more details to get hem on, and i'll call andf give them a earfull.   why i just recently did the same thing w/ burger boys, they were open on Christmas, and it pissed me off.   i called the headquarteers up and threateneded to send my orchards pruners over w./ picket signs when i had a chance.   believe it or not, they tried to offer coupons to change my mind

ReplyADF International, Great Falls, MTave, up until the election had the company been proactive about keeping the union out? I've been in a couple places where they would have likely closed the doors before allowing a union into their shop.Just wondered. At this point, they really can't do anything either wayExpert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948

Reply:If management and the worker bees could ever get along, there would be no need for unions. When I went into management, on the big jobs the company would hire a kid right out of college, (engineering degree) to do my paper work while I was in the field. Sooner or later they would ask me what college I went to. I would reply, college? Oh yeah I drove by one once. When they found out how much I was being paid, majority of them had a bad attitude towards me!Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:Yeah, the ppl involved in trying to get a union in a place usually keep it real low key, and only start advertising once the plan is rolled out and the organizers think they might have enough interest to force a vote. When my friend was trying to get the machinists union into Dart, they (management) were discreetly pulling ppl off the floor and questioning them as to what they knew about it and who was behind it. He was talking to ppl and trying to gauge support before anything went public. They even talked to him, but he just denied everything. It was kind of an unsaid thing, but management REALLY frowned on any type of organization on the part of the employees and in an indirect way, made it very clear it wasn't happening.Every place is different. I've personally known some guys who worked in shops where if you even wore any type of clothing with union insignia on it, or carried a lunch box with union stickers, you would get sweat bad about it. Guess that's where I'm coming from in asking if they were really going out of their way to express displeasure in any efforts involving employee organization.Last edited by 7A749; 01-21-2016 at 07:57 AM.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
