Today has been a day of yelling on the phone with a company I tired to get my prescription safety glasses through ( rx-safety.com). Anyway long story short I have BAD vision. The person i called and ordered the glasses from failed to inform me that if your script is over +/- 4.00 you cant wear wrap around style glasses. Well I have a set of wiley sg-1's i cant even use cause when I put them on its like looking in a fish bowl. my script is +6.75 and +7.00 its up there. Anyway one here have any safety glasses that are some what nice looking? Some that has some style to them. I do plan on using them for riding glasses.. Reply:Tom waters optical in louisiana. You talk to real people. There are great to deal with. Website is www.tomwatersonline.com. A lot of the eyeglass stuff is not on website, they actually have a full service optical shop. It's not contracted out. Did I mention they cater to welders. I have bought many sets from them and been really pleased. Expect to spend at least $150. The uv and scratch coat is well worth the extra also. Reply:I bought prescription safety glasses for $85.00.  They are styled after what basketball players wear.  I had to get them for my job, they came with both temples and a strap that you can interchange.

Reply:Thanks for all the replies guys.. The problem i am running in to since my 'script is negative i cant have a true wrap frame. From what i have been told by several eye places that i cant have a combined sphere of +/- 4.00 .. So they say the flatter the frame in the lenses are the better. Reply:I don't have the brand name, just some weird logo on the frame.  I took my script for glasses in the place that I get my frames from and told her what I was looking for.  They are padded towards the face, the lenses are almost the same shape as regular glasses,  She even offered to get them for me in a bifocal ( she's kind of a smart *** at times)
Reply:Have you considered wearing your standard prescription lenses for straight ahead vision, in combination with a face shield ?The face shield will allow excellent wide angle vision with full protection.A bit inconvenient, but cheap.If you do get hit with a fragment, you good prescription lenses will be protected.I bought a cheater lens for my welding helmet, but found in practice it was less convenient than just leaving my ordinary glasses on under the welding helmet.
