Hello,I'm back at welding helping my cousin who is laid off start his little business. I haven't bought a welder in a long time, so I have a couple quick questions on Miller MIG's....1. Where am I going to get my best price on new? I went to my local Praxair and I got quotes on several models and they were all 5 to 10% more than MSRP listed on the Miller site...wtf? I know I didn't try haggling at all, which I would if I went back, but I was a little disappointed that was their first move. Is that normal? Best price I have seen is cyberweld. 2. The mobile work my cousin is doing always has electric access (definitely 110 and sometimes 220), so I don't think I'm going to go engine driven right off the bat, so I am thinking 141, 211, or 252. I am pretty sure 211 is the machine for me, but it would be great to save a few hundred bucks if 141 will be adequate. We are rarely seeing anything over 3/8's inch. Doing a good bit of rail fixing, gate building, and we are also working with some DOM fabing some aftermarket truck armor.Thanks in advance. Sorry if these are annoying "should have searched" questions.

If you are in or near Wisconsin, here is my local supplier. http://www.weldersupply.com/I did buy a machine from them and was below list price and a little lower than online price too. I bought a package deal including a 125 tank , hood, and miscellaneous goodies. Go to a few local suppliers and get a price and then ask if you pay cash if it would be less.

Reply:If your going to weld heavier steel you may need the 212 or 252 ,not very portable

Reply:Originally Posted by AGWA few months ago Miller sent out an email saying they were going to revamp their internet price to reflect Miller's "suggested selling price", therefore the price you're seeing on their website is not their MSRP, it actually is higher. I'm not in sales anymore so I just skimmed over the email, but in a nutshell, that's the explanation why the dealer prices were higher. Someone who knows, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's basically it I think.
