Found a 330 ab/p online about a hour and a half away. Haven't gone and looked at it yet, but have talked to the guy. He says everything good to go, but his buddy who owns it has some how hard wired or bypassed the rheostat it to where it has no fine amperage control, just the pedal. He said he'll try to talk to him about it, but you know how that goes. The story he gave me is he did it so his shop guys didn't mess with it. Is that possible, or even likely? Id like to have the ability to stick weld and control the voltage a bit finer with the tig. I'm worried that the rheostat may just be shot. Is there anywhere to buy a replacement?
Reply:He may have just took the switch for remote amperage out and tied it up in the inside of the machine. Reply:If he has the manual for it, or you can find one through the Miller website or phone tech support 920-734-9821, you can get the rheostat part no. Then look at Miller4less.com for the part. You will need the serial number from the machine.
Reply:I appreciate the replies! Guess Ill give him a couple days to get with his buddy and find out whats up with it. If not ill try to get down there this weekend and see if its something simple. hopefully its just a switch thats tied up.
Reply:Found some rheostats under the part number 030653. Its a 15ohm 150 watt rheostat. How hard are they to get to?

ast I remember there's a couple different styles. A short one and a long rod one. If the guy disabled the rheostat, it's likely still good. Current still travels thru it when the foot control operates. I wouldn't buy a thing until you have seen it and know for sure. They're not terribly difficult to find on eBay.
