Will most everything that works on a 304xmt work on this shopmaster?Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk
Reply:Yeah, for the most part yes barring microprocessor wire feeders. They'll run off of it but you won't be able to use any of the pulsing parameters as they were designed to be run from inverter machines.Besides that, it'll run HF boxes, foot controls 115/24 volt wire feeders, spool guns (SM3, or 30A with a WC 24 control) and some remote control pendants. You would need a way to energize the contactor if you wanted to run a voltage sensing wire feeder off it, but with a remote pendant that has a contactor control switch (or make a jump switch between pins A and B) no sweat. There were two styles of this machine, you have the earlier model. It's based on the same basic platform the Syncrowave 250 was originally designed from. I believe 1988 was the first year for these, as it was for the Swave 250.What are you looking to do?Last edited by 7A749; 09-11-2016 at 11:10 PM.Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948

Reply:I wouldn't. Keep what you have, it's a better combination by far. You'll have to buy a bunch of stuff just to get going and performance won't be anything close to what you already posess.IMHO of courseExpert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
Reply:I have every attachment for the xmt I think. Xra, hf251, 30a-24wc, optima pulser, 12vs, 12rc, 64s, 74d, 22a,118a some that may escape me. I would not get rid of the xmt and syncrowave just move them else where in the shop. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk

ull right side panel, look at polarity switch. if contacts are burnt You will have a problem. That switch and the control pcb are obsolete from miller. Look at the cap bank in the back under the fan.Make sure none are venting or the plastic coating melting off.
Reply:This thread has got me curious.I have a shopmaster that has separate taps for the CV side.I'll get a picture of the taps tomorrow but mine has 4. The machine looks the same other than the output lugs. I tried to decode mine by the sn but didn't have much luck
