Buddy of mine whom is a general repairman has an older Trailblazer 301 w/water cooled diesel engine. He went to jump start the unit and it now makes no secondary output, or auxiliary power and was fine up till then. The machine was replaced due to age, but runs perfect w/a couple thousand hours on it. I seen it on a shelf in the shop and asked about it.I can have the welder but wondering what a replacement CCA would cost assuming I cannot repair it myself. Reply:If you had a unit SN you could look up the PNs and $$ for the two boards that are in the TB301D but a quick look shows the two of them totaling around $900.I say both boards as I've seen jumping the TB take out both due to a failure on one causing a secondary failure on the other.  Some repair shops consider the Control Board (behind the panel) to be not repairable as it is of the 3-level design with traces sandwiched between two layers of board material.  It can be extremely difficult to de-solder and make good solder joints at components that use the center layer of traces.  That being said, I have had a pair of boards for a TB301G repaired successfully by a local guy (former NASA satellite tech) and he commented on how difficult it was to repair that tri-level control board.The Power Board mounted above the generator is a single layer board with the typical traces on both sides and much easier to repair.  However, you need to have a shop that can at least test the Control Board to see if there's a problem there as the first shop to repair the Power Board for me didn't tell me they could not (even though I sent them both) until after I notified them their Power Board repair lasted about 15 seconds after I reinstalled it.If your buddy's willing to give it to you, you may luck out and it be only the Power Board that has a problem unless you feel the machine is worth making the $900 outright investment.Last edited by duaneb55; 03-06-2016 at 05:25 PM.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
