hello all im new hear and hater to start off needing help but here goes ...I just picked up a clark forklift not sure the model but it wieghs 12000lbs its propane has two forward and one reverse speeds it works great except it seems to not engage in gear till around 1500 rpms like it has a stall converter it comes in smooth and doesnt slip at all i have pulled some good hills with wieght but with the rpms that high you cant sneak up to anything to easy almost like im resting my foot on the brake releasing the inch valve until the rpms come up a little as i said everything else works perfectly   Thanks in advance    Graffixx
Reply:Try changing out the fluid, some use a special 10w type of fluid.....Welcome.
Reply:My forklift did that when i first got it the brake/ Valve that acts like a clutch was out of adjustment.

Reply:Ok there's an adjustment on the clutch inching valve. disconnect brake pedal to master cylinder rod take clutch rod loose. Jack up machine with drive tires off ground. CHECK GROUND clearence!!! Crank machine put in low fwd check adjustment of clutch rod move rod and valve to get tires to move and stop.Then set brake pedalrod so clutch comes on before brakes. Change oil and filters will help to  Iuse JD303 trans hydraluic fluid in ones I work on if no specs available.
