Reply:We used to use a Karcher unit. It's been years and I don't honestly remember the model. Reply:X2 on what stickman said weve got a hotsy that we bought used 10 or more years ago been very reliable. Basics to look at are the pump is it belt drive or direct belt is better. What kind of motor is it name brand or off brand just a few things to look at when comparing. We had a cheaper cold water machine and it would shake it self apart.Millermatic 252millermatic 175miller 300 Thunderboltlincoln ranger 250smith torcheslots of bfh'sIf it dont fit get a bigger hammer

Reply:I had a Kartcher diesel fired model. Worked good but parts were expensive and it used metric connections till it finally died. Now I have a propane fired Landa. Works well. Standard fittings and plenty of support and parts. Have a local dealer too. The quality of the pump is a big deal. Some off brands use cheap pumps which are throw away rather than rebuildableTiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Thanks for all the ideas on what to look for. I called one manufacturer so far and got a lot answered based off the questions.

I would add that whatever brand you end up with, add an inlet water screen to the system if not already equipped. Many of my call outs were simply debris from the water source (mineral scale, rust particulates, etc.).
Reply:I have 220v model from northern tool. north star or whatever their brand is. I'm very happy with it so far, but I only use it a handful of times a year so I can't really say how well it will hold up to daily use.IW Local 580 NY, NY
