I am a new owner of a powermax 65.I wanted to show some differences between the older torch and the new torch consumables.  As the website does not really show these things...1st thing is:  The parts are bigger/longer2nd .... Because of this...Hypertherm also updated the laser etching for identification.The writing is LARGER...so you can read the writing and #'s w/o using a magnifying glass!!....This is a sometimes-overlooked feature.... Example...I purchased the Craftsman sockets with the LARGE writing on them so I could quickly identify them...3rd.  The consumables cost MORE than the 45.  120$ for the 45 box.. 170$ for the 65 box..These are the ON SALE price...so...I am not sure where the consumable life comes into play...but right now...the cost in MORE...for the 65...but then again...the AMPS are more.....The Electrode has a spring on it...not sure how it works...but because of this..the torche has less parts to break compared to the 45....I have taken pictures comparing side-by-side....(If you can see the writing, it is the new design)This is mainly an information post...as I have only taken a few cuts with it....I found that when you get into the high amp electrics...you can't just go up to Home-Repo...And pick it up.... You have to go to a professional facility...I wanted to install an on/off interrupter with slow burn fuses...Anything above 40 amps...they don't have it...at the gen pop outlets....
