I need a small 110v welder that I can take around my farm to do fencing repair's in my barn's.  I am getting sick of penning livestock up to take gates and equipment down and bring them into the shop for repairs. It will be easier to take the welder with me.  This welder will run flux core wire only.  I am looking at the Lincoln Easy MigHobart Handler 100, 125, 140, or potentially the 190 or 210 depending on their sizeTitanium 140 from Harbor FreightI would like to be in the $500ish range, but if need be I can bump up the price a little, as long as its under $1000
Reply:I would look at dual voltage. The 120 sounds great  on paper but they flip the breaker a lotDave

Reply:A MVP 210 Hobart will do everything thing you want and then some.  Bought a cheap dual fuel generator from Sams club it runs the welder great on 120 in the field, and both fit nicely in the bucket on the tractor.  The Hobart runs on 240 in the shop.  It a nice little welder, have tried the HF welders they were inconsistent used the northern tool brands too same thing just a little smoother, the Hobart is great compared to themRetired Old GuyHobart 210Lincoln AC/DC 225/125 Tombstone Evolution 14” Saw
Reply:I have "two shops" at my house. One is my barn shop that has all my bigger stuff, plasma table, Bpt, Lathe, HTP 240 MIG and Dyn 300DX etc. The second shop is my "garage" shop. I am starting to add equipment to the garage shop. I got a HF Titanium 200. Like 20 lbs. Dual voltage. Pretty good welder for the money. I do recommend using a better wire than what comes with it. Looks for sales from HF.www.tjsperformance.comDynasty 300 DXHTP 240HTP Microcut 380Hyperthem 85JD2 Hyd Bender and HF Hyd Ring Roller all in one =(Frankenbender)Bpt. Reply:No barn My generator has 240 voltage too. But come owning more that one 120 volt welder and try to get welding job done. The reason I said dual voltage 120 voltage and 240 voltage as both worlds/flexible covered.Dave

Reply:I don't own the HF Titanium 125, but based on this video, I would give it a shot  Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:I wish I had gotten a dual voltage but current welder is a 240 volt so weld something away from plug I need generator. It cheaper the a extention cord. If welding indoors solid wire well work . A little wind will blow the gas away. That is also true for E71T-1 with gasOutside fluxcore no gas works the best. Also works inside tooThe size for small welder say the small size E70-3 or 6 0.023.Fluxcore 0.030Dave

Reply:You might take a quick look at the Prime Weld MIG160 and MIG180, dual voltage, flux core/MIG/stick, inverter (light), reasonably priced.

Reply:The copper smelter where I worked had a little 2 stroke powered DC gas welder that was awesome for field work, I don't remember the brand, but I'll never forget the horrid squeal it made when welding, it finally died & I don't know if they just didn't fix it, if it couldn't be fixed, the company wouldn't fix it or if they no longer made it, it was light and very easy to pack around, IIRC it had about 10 foot leads and ran 7018 very nicely, if I had to venture a guess I'd say someone put straight gas with no oil & fried the engine OR just electronically diedNRA LIFE MEMBERUNITWELD 175 AMP 3 IN1 DCMIDSTATES 300 AMP AC MACHINELET'S GO BRANDON!"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
Reply:It might be one of the Mosa Welders from Italy. The Raymond forktruck mechancs had them onboard their service truck. Oh Yeah, they were loud. They seem to have welded OK.This :  http://www.mosa.it/en/product/engine...387cc4317b23c7

The also make machines CanaweldI liked the Primeweld mig160 myself. It runs on 120/240v. Its performance on 120v was excellent when welding with gasless flux core, mig, or stick welding. It ran really well, and didn't knock out breakers when welding on 15 amp circuits. its small size, and light weight make it very portable. The only draw back to it was it only took the small 2lb spools of wire. The mig gun was very light duty, if I had kept it , I would have made an adapter to put a lincoln L100 gun on it. Just my 2 cents on it. YMMV

Reply:I ended up with a Hobart 140.  Did a bunch of welding last night and it works really well.  I was a little nervous about the duty cycle and popping a breaker but It hasnt happened yet.  I was welding on 1/4"  Had the power setting on high and ran a continues 3' weld.  Never tripped the breaker or cut out to cool off.Where can I find Hobart parts online?  Where I got this welder from had a 125 on the shelf.  I noticed it did not have the hub, washer, spring or nut for the wire drive.  They told me they would discount it heavily if I was interested.  I have been searching for parts and my limited searching skills can't find many parts online, nor even a parts diagram with part numbers.
Reply:Hobart is a excellent brand I had a few over the years. If you are missing parts and need the part look on Ebay and Amazon.  Please take a photo and post so we can see what parts you are missing. You may not need them or there is  cheaper off brand part.Dave
