Reply:Hey, It's got a "Grind-Eze" box to trip the idler with a grinder. Nice older machine. But take that battery ground cable and get it attached to the engine block. If somebody cranks it with the mag shut off it can fry the spring on the point set if the engine doesn't have a good ground to the frame.

Reply:The only complaint about most DC welder is the 120 volt plug is DC. So you either need all hand tools DC , bring a ac generator or add a ac generator to welder. I had Hobart and had buy all tools and rod heater on DC. Dave

Reply:Duaneb55, I agree with you. I often wonder the same thing. With all of the LCD and analog screened machines currently being produced, I don’t see the machines passing the test of time and lasting like these old machines.
Reply:I purchased the machine in the condition you see it in the pictures. The only thing I’ve done to it so far is sit in front of it for hours admiring it and smiling. I’m excited to disassemble it and bring it back to its original condition. You know you’ve made a good purchase when something 22 years older than you can make you smile each time you walk past it. Thanks for all the replies and I welcome any information and or advise to make this Red Face Great Again.

I found the machine for sale in Alvarado Texas for $2000.00. A close friend who X-rays gas pipe line in Texas drug her home to me in Florida in the bed of his F-150. I've searched for several years here in Florida for a Red Face machine with no luck. Most of the machines for sale in Florida are Black Face machines and are of lesser quality and selling between  2-4 thousand dollars.

Lesser quality? You actually run them, or going by the old myths? I've had 3 Blackface machines and 2 Redface/round barrel machines and really didn't notice much difference with 6010 running 10-12 hours a day.

A lot of the machines I've located in Florida the frames, metal works and battery boxes are completely rusted out. Others the engines are seized, missing the engine and or other critical components such as the barrel / armature and are asking 2K - 4K . I believe the sellers are basing their selling price off the myths. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone with my vernacular or lack there of.
