I'm wanting an engine driven welder for backup home power/serious hobby/farm repairs/neighbor jobs... I already have a 12RC suitcase and a Dynasty 200 so I want a TB. I have been looking high and low for months. What few used low hour gassers are priced so high that it just maybe makes more sense to order a new one. Online delivered price is $9,695 for TB EFI, Arc Reach, Excel Power after the latest price increase! (I can afford it, OK)However, I have found a couple of used diesels for example: 2016 rental TB325 diesel, 1400 hrs, on a good trailer, complete maintenance records (no issues)for $8,500. The new cost of this rig is $16,782 without a trailer...I already have a diesel truck and tractor....I'm seeking some advice. I sorta know the pros and cons but I need another set of eyes....I will never wear out either rig just want to get the most bang for the buck eh.
Reply:i personally would by the used diesel. run it for an hour while talking to the owner to make sure no issues.lincoln 125spdayton 250 ac/dcmiller 211 w/spool gunahp 200 sx tiglotos ltp5000dkubota b3200 FEL BHof course duramax diesel
Reply:+1 for a diesel, that would be my personal preference.Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:I would go with the new gas engine drive and full warranty. Those smaller diesel engine drives are higher speed diesels and pretty much negate any advantages gained with diesel power. Pretty much comes down to how much use it's going to get. |
