I recently purchased an 80s model Idealarc TIG 250, when I try and stick weld with it will only strike an arc and weld on the high power position on the switch. The med and low will barely strike an arc. Ive tried 6010,6013 & 7018 down to 5/64 and none will weld in these power positions. Where should I start troubleshooting?
Reply:Sounds like bug 🐛 The ones that die in the electric contacts. The die bug forms a nice insulation on contacts. It can also be loose electric screws. The over time will wire loosened and have tighten the screws again. Dave
