There is a lot of facination with real welding and back in the old days we cut it all with a torch and rarely had a grinder.  Its all kind of changed, I have a short list of stuff I really should have got early on, an ironworker being one of them.  I can see the value to the automatic cutting table at newer prices, I don't have one but if I was more smarty engineer type might be inclined to get one and some smaller equipment than the old,,, 48 inch finger brake, maybe jump shear and might focus on recycle work, the supply of appliance sheet being near endless or at scrap cost yet.   I think I might take to doing recycle furniture, cabnits etc. if I was looking to start over with a bit of that type of thing.  There are a lot of free bends with it and can make some more along the way, the 140 feeder and a battery drill and watch out.www.urkafarms.com

Reply:I agree.  Its great for guys wanna toss money at it too,,, there is plenty of room for that too but the large continual hi expense was a real buzz kill too.  Same for all that hobby stuff, cars, photo, women, booze, snowmobile and motorcycle crap.    Some welding equipment has always paid for itself if a guy used it but the new recent economy versions have taken a lot of pain out of it especially considering todays dollars.  I had a recent conversation that included some Snap tools,,, how wonderful they are but in the real world I use a China wrench I had for 30 years now along with a few Sears a 1000 times before I reach for a Snappy.  I probably have a dozen + maybe more of common small sizes, each collection cost same as 1 snap and many actually have unique features a guy gets used to. The Snaps are the best, maybe so, I cant argue that point but I can tell this for a fact,,, that the China wrench far exceeds its reputation and then some when it comes to beating the snot out of them and gittin er dun.   It would be a huge bonus for the entry level machine to be usable and its reached that state.   Used to be coulnt melt warm butter from 120v/20A but now used in nuke service and structural work.   I didnt understand it till later but the 120AC buzzer might have worked with 3/32 6011 which is super low current but that is rather limiting.  1/8 11 and 3/32 lohy is a whole nutha matter.Last edited by Sberry; 1 Week Ago at 01:16 PM.www.urkafarms.com
