Hello all I posted in the electrical section but wasnt getting any bites so I figured Id drop it in here:trying to wire my Miller S54-A to my Thermal Arc 400 GMS 14-pin. Ive got diagrams but I just want to be sure I do it properly the first time. Thanks for any help guys.
The pic on left is the thermal arc 14-pin diagram, right side pic is the archaic Miller S54-A
Reply:There is more to schematic only 5 wires are used but 6 pins are shown . The plug shows 8 Dave

Reply:There isn’t enough information on the Miller side of things about the necessary signals and voltage levels to be useful.
Reply:I have the full wiring diagram for both units but the Miller one seems a little convoluted. Are you asking for more on the pin outs or the full unit wiring schematic?? If so, which unit the thermal or Miller feeder? I thought the older Miller feeder only used the 4 pins and a power lead, something to do with completing a circuit through the trigger switch on the mig gun. As you can see Im having issues making heads or tails off of the Miller schematic.
Reply:The feeder uses a 115v solid contactor circuit. That’s what’s referenced at the 4 wires in that diagram pictured.
