I have to modify some vessels, change out flanges from standard flanges one in one out of the tank to a pad flange. The tanks are rubber lined we've done half a dozen already. Process starts by removing rubber on the inside of the tank then torch out the flange grind edges clean and weld in pad flange. A few months ago I came across this hole saw adapter.
I used it today and could not be happier. didn't have to peel any rubber and got a perfect hole.Flange
sawzal off
set up adapter, 1-5/8" hole saw on the inside and 6" on the outside
Reply:1-5/8 hole saw fit nice in the rubber lined tube
About 10 to 15 minutes later
Here the removed flange next to the pad flange that will take it's place
The process is quicker and easier this way. Awesome tool. still need to stripe the rubber around the hole before welding but it will be much easier.Hope this is helpful.
