TIG- Climbing The Learning Curve

Hey Folks,I've been on the TIG learning curve for a while now.  Each day I'm sharpening my tungsten less often.  But the sharpened end is always 'blued' after I do a run.  See the photos I've attached.My is this normal?  If not what are the causes?My set up:3/32" MTS 2% Lanthanated Tungsten 1/8" (0.116" actual) carbon steel, very clean110 amps, no pulse, foot pedal#8 cup, gas lens, normal stick outArgon 15 cfh1.5 sec pre-flow & 2 sec post flowTravel speed seems goodThanks for any response or comment.......Mike

Reply:Too little Post Purge will do that (O2 getting to the Tungsten while it's still glowing).
Reply:Up the post flow to about 6 seconds and hold the TIG torch still; don't waive it around like when you used to pretend you were a ninja with a sword. Stay put until the post-flow timer expires.

Reply:BaTu, Oscar,,,,OK, OK, Trying to save on $$ Argon $$ while being in 'practice mode' and all the while having my head up in dark place I kept throttling back on the post flow time.  Yup, stupid, stupid, stupid, I'm glad I asked the embarrassing question.  This afternoon I burned through several 1/16" rods and the tip of my tungsten was very clean and shinny, same as some of my private parts..!Ya know, I'd probably be chase'n my tail for a painful while until I figured it out.  Stick and MIG are so different, not bad, but different.  TIG you gotta be able to chew gum, pat the top of your head, rub circles on your belly, at the same time while........A big thanks to you to both for responding to such a fundamental question.See Ya, ByeEvery Day I Attempt To Be The Person My Dog Thinks I am.
