Hello, I have two marquette torches that i use once in a while that can take size 164 torch tips. I also have a Airco Concoa burn torch that takes size 164 tips so thats all i have to carry in different orifice sizes. On one of my Marquette torches, i believe it is leaking around the torch tip seats in the head. It pops and bangs a bit when lighting it. Has anyone had any luck reaming the tip seat out getting it to seal? Also where does one find a reamer or even the dimensions of 164 tips so i could make a reamer? This torch is a 4 foot demo head so i dont really want to ship it off in the mail and have it come back a pretzel shape. I'm going to try to blue it and see if there's a definite leak spot on one of the 3 tapers on the tips and seat lands. Thought about trying to lap it but not really brave enough to put oil and grit in the torch and the copper tip is softer than the brass seat so i don't think it would do much. Has anybody had this issue before? |
