Reply:I have a Lincoln 210mp, it covers most of the basic processes.   It is a mig welder with other functions.   None of  the others are as good, but you have them. Reply:I can not begin to choose a welder, until I know the direction in which your welding interests "lean",,Repair farm equipment, STICK WELDER,,Rebuild an antique or race car, TIG WELDERProduction of railings, or other steel stuff for sale, MIG WELDERFlimsy neeew (eeew)  cars, RESISTANCE SPOT WELDERInstrumentation and sensors for an aircraft jet engine, LASER OR ELECTRON BEAM WELDEROthers can add the types of welders that I skipped,  some of those welders are a dollar or two over $2,000,,,
Reply:Today I do all my welding with flux core. In past I did most welding with stick but flux core is a lot faster than stick.For most of my TIG work I would still use O/A torch. There are a lot jobs today that band any type of arc welding. Dave

Reply:Is this for your education and future machine purchase or just a fun game on who would buy what if they had an extra $2k itching to burn a hole in their pocket?Lincoln, ESAB, Thermal Dynamics, Victor, Miller, Dewalt, Makita, Kalamzoo.  Hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting tools.
Reply:Lincoln Powering 210 MP or a Miller Multimatic 215. I mean I already made the same decision but with double the budget.. I ditched my syncrowave and MM252, and got a Multimatic 255. I couldn't be happier.
