I had this table project last year and i wanted to share it for you guys. My idea was to build a sturdy adjustable welding table for cheap. The challenge was finding way to lift a heavy table alone in the workshop. All four legs have threaded rods which will lift table when rotated, then it has sprockets and chain so all the legs move at the same time and it stays on level. Here is Sketchup model of the table:https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/mod...-height-adjust

Couldn't find small enough sprockets so i made cad template and made them from 3mm flat bar.I drilled holes on marks and cutted outer rim off.

Reply:Cool as hell and awesome design/implementation.I would add a cover/guard for the chain.  Spatter and grinding junk are a drive chain's most dangerous natural enemy. The way you made the sprockets is impressive, I would have never thought of it.

Reply:That’s the same idea behind the tables used in tool and die shops.Table is on heavy castors and can be rolled up to a big punch press. Table is cranked up to height of press so die can be slid onto table, and then it’s rolled into shop and height is adjusted to height of bench, milling machine etc. There’s usually a removable crank thatcan be put on either of two drive sprockets. A smaller one for raising the table with a heavy load and a larger sprocket for rapid raising/lowering.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite

Reply:It's usually called a die cart around here.  Very nice!-DaveXMT304 with: 22A Feeder, or HF251 Hi Freq DC TIG air cooled
